Hard water on the domestic hot-water side
London tap water is hard by any UK standard. Combi boilers scale on the DHW plate heat exchanger surprisingly quickly here — we fit an inline scale reducer as standard on every combi install and recommend a limescale flush on boilers more than five years old.
Communal heating and district-system quirks
Some London blocks run communal heating with heat interface units (HIUs) rather than individual boilers. These aren't strictly our specialism, but we can advise on whether an HIU is genuinely faulty or whether the block's plant is the actual cause of a problem in your flat.
